David is thrilled to have been appointed concertmaster of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, holding the Rachel Mellon Walton Concertmaster Chair, beginning with the 2022-2023 season. He will join Music Director Manfred Honeck and the Orchestra as concertmaster for its European tour in August 2022 and will first appear in Pittsburgh as concertmaster at the Orchestra's gala concert in September that opens the 2022-2023 season.

After 34 years, the Vienna Piano Trio has announced that the 2021-22 season will be its last, with concerts including a cycle at Vienna Konzerthaus focusing on the trios of Schubert and Mendelssohn, as well as performances in Stuttgart, Trieste, and London's Wigmore Hall. In April 2022, the trio will also make a tour of the USA and Canada, visiting Houston, Tucson, Berkeley, Ashland, Tryon, Ottawa, and Vancouver. The farewell season will conclude with a concert in June 2022 at Vienna Konzerthaus with friends Jörg Widmann, Thomas Selditz, und Alois Posch.

The Vienna Piano Trio’s Beethoven recording of Op. 1/3 and the “Archduke” trio (released in celebration of the 250th anniversary of his birth) has won the 2020 Opus Klassik award for best trio recording.
